WE think the well known media person and the feisty radio station involved in the tale about to be unfolded are best spared their blushes by remaining nameless.

The catalogue of mishaps began when the jolly ex-broadcaster was invited to do a weekend show for the station - the first of which was, as expected, innovative and lively. But the innovation appears to have got a bit out of hand, for a number of ''unlogged'' (ie, unauthorised) commercials also went out on air.

The broadcaster and his producer were suitably penitent when admonished by the station, and then went about enthusiastically preparing for their second show.

Alas, this time it was that enthusiasm that got the better of them. Dashing around the station to listen to a tape they wanted to feature in the next show, our man's producer, unfamiliar with the layout of the station, walked into the nearest studio and put the tape on - immediately knocking the station off air for almost an hour in the late hours of a recent night.

We are told the future of the show is now in ''a holding pattern''. As for the host? He now finds himself in fashionable MTV mode - unplugged!
