Henderson Land Development has sold more than 230 units of its Metro Harbour View residential project in Tai Kok Tsui at discount prices in an internal sale.
Hundreds of estate agents and buyers yesterday gathered at Henderson's sales office on the construction site in what was seen as the latest significant test of confidence in the housing market.
Estate agents said Henderson had registered more than 1,000 interested buyers.
The 230 units were sold at an average HK$3,100 per square foot, according to Henderson Land general manager of sales Donald Cheung Ping-keung.
Kicking off the launch last week, Henderson had set the price for the first 28 units at HK$3,008 per square foot for staggered payment, about 10 per cent lower than secondary market prices.
Cash buyers received a 3 per cent discount, bringing the price to HK$2,918 per square foot.
