The bag ladies

BRITISH BAG MAKER Anya Hindmarch and the Hong Kong Cancer Fund joined forces in a roped-off section of The Landmark Atrium for one of the most wildly successful charity projects of the year. Pop stars, models, actors, designers, socialites and other Hong Kong style icons gathered to receive their 'celebrity' handbags and assist the charity's silent auction of other accessories. In the organisers' effort to publicise the project, 24 local style leaders were asked to submit their favourite photographs so the folks at Hindmarch in Britain could turn the pictures into bags - hence the event's 'Be A Bag' theme. Some guests sent in photographs of themselves, such as the catwalk queen Qi Qi and the stylish couple Ricky Kwok and model Eunis Chan, while others handed over other snaps, such as the smiling Buddha which appeared on G.O.D. store owner Douglas Young's bag, and Stephen Chow's dog, which featured on his. Socialite Pansy Ho's cat made an appearance on her bag, while Teresa Cheng submitted a photograph of her children, as did actor Michael Wong and model Janet Ma.
