THE power struggle within the Hongkong Judo Association took another twist yesterday with a rebel group applying for a court injunction to effectively wrestle the recognised title away from their rivals. Wong Siu-ming formed his own hierarchy under the ''association'' banner - claiming widespread defection by member clubs in his support - after being barred from running for office at the body's annual general meeting last month. He said he hoped the courtinjunction would settle the matter. ''We have to stop the other group from using our title,'' he said. ''We have already received support from 29 member clubs for our extraordinary general meeting on July 21 to take place. ''We represent the majority of the clubs so we should be recognised as the main body.'' Earlier this week, the incumbent body claimed the rebels' extraordinary general meeting was illegal as it would not have been approved by at least two-thirds of the body's 52 members.
