This is particularly so when you are a judge on the Court of Final Appeal.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new legal year on Monday, Chief Justice Andrew Li Kwok-nang had a bit of a moan about the size of his courtroom.
He complained that the Court of Final Appeal Building - housed in the old French Missionary in Battery Path, Central - was not very, err, appealing.
'The courtroom, for all its charm, is manifestly inadequate,' he said.
