The winter period in Asia is slow for the hotel business and discounts on room nights are widely available. The Mandarin Oriental has announced specials over this period. The Winter Choices package offers a bed and breakfast package, single or double occupancy at the same rate, daily American breakfast for one or two people and late check-out until 6pm (subject to availability). Finnair launches new route

European airline Finnair is launching a new route to Hong Kong on February 7 to coincide with the Lunar New Year. Regular scheduled flights start on February 15. Finnair will fly to Hong Kong three times a week via Bangkok, with departures from Helsinki on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 11.30pm. Return flights from Hong Kong are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing at 9.50pm. The timetable is planned to connect with Finnair's domestic, Scandinavian and European services, as well as those operated by Cathay Pacific and other oneworld alliance partners between Hong Kong and the rest of Southeast Asia.
