I am concerned about the stereotypical views many people still have about men and women.
Some individuals still talk about women as being the 'weaker' sex.
They imply that women are physically and mentally inferior to men.
Such an argument is ridiculous, as many talented women occupy important posts in various walks of life. Look, for example, at our former chief secretary for administration Anson Chan. There are many 'iron ladies' in Hong Kong who have very influential and important jobs.
Clearly, women are not the weaker sex.
I think we should all accept that men and women are equal. The traditional beliefs where men played dominant roles should be abandoned. We can only have a harmonious society in Hong Kong and abroad if we embrace sexual equality.
