Other cases in the past 12 months in which parents have killed children and taken their own lives:

February 12: Shekkipmei widow, 29, burns charcoal, killing herself and her nine-month-old son following her husband's death.

April 14: Shau Kei Wan man, 35, kills himself and his nine-year-old son over debts and unemployment by burning charcoal.

April 20: Woman, 37, kills herself and her eight-year-old son by burning charcoal at their Tsuen Wan home over husband's affairs.

June 11: Father, 29, fearing his wife will leave him, kills himself, his son, five, and daughter, seven, in Ngau Tau Kok using charcoal.

August 21: Divorcee, 43, kills herself and son, five, by burning charcoal in their Yuen Long home over gambling debts.
