Another lawsuit hits IceRed as Singaporean seeks authors' details
Internet chat site IceRed.com has been hit with another lawsuit demanding it release personal information to identify the authors of allegedly libellous statements.
Max Loh Khum Whai, of Singapore, made the application in a High Court writ filed yesterday. He is seeking the identity of the 'first sender' and 'second sender' of messages posted on December 30, on the grounds that a libel claim is likely.
He is seeking an order against IceRed.com Ltd for disclosure of all information relating to the full name, address, e-mail address and Internet protocol address of the sender of an electronic message, posted on December 30 last year at 5.23pm. The message, under the topic 'Max Loh', was located in the Singapore/Work/Accounting domain.
Details are also being sought of the sender of a message posted on the same date, under the same topic, at 9.33pm.
The writ wants IceRed to disclose the number of times the 'Max Loh' material was accessed.
IceRed operates a chat room for Hong Kong and Singapore subscribers.
