Trader Yip Kwok-fai, 48, and decorator Mok Sau-fuk, 44, appeared in Eastern Court on charges of possessing 5,300 counterfeit $10 coins. The coins were found on the two men outside a secondary school in Chai Wan and in an industrial building in Tsuen Wan on Wednesday by officers of the Commercial Crime Bureau, the court heard. Yip faces two counts, and Mok one count, of possessing counterfeit coins. No pleas were taken. Magistrate Ian Candy adjourned the case until March 8. Yip and Mok were remanded in custody.
