More high drama with the Boston law firm. Kate Littlefield meets with Bobby Donnell (Dylan McDermott, above). Her husband, Raymond, was charged with murdering the couple's daughter, Fiona, with a golf club. Police believe Raymond was having an affair with the girl, his stepchild, but Kate insists this never happened. During Bobby's study into the case, he is convinced Kate killed her daughter.
Meanwhile Jimmy Berluti (Michael Badalucco) discovers Kate became sole beneficiary to a US$2 million trust upon Fiona's death. Fiona's sister, Jenny, shuts down emotionally when her conversation with Bobby shifts to Kate. However assistant district attorney Alexander tells Bobby that contaminated blood found on Fiona's body contains semen that is a DNA match for Raymond. So, who's the killer?
Meeting with Helen Gamble (Lara Flynn Boyle, left), Howard McGowan, the father of 11-year-old rape victim Amanda, reacts with concern when she says his daughter may have to testify in court. Despite the psychologist's objections, Gamble fails to convince Judge Betts that the girl needs more time to heal before she testifies. Eye-witness Michelle's credibility is questioned due to her alcoholism.
Single mum-to-be Ellenor Frutt (Camryn Manheim, right) seeks the advice of Dr Ben Gideon after she experiences abdominal pains. She receives an ultrasound exam. Gideon finally tells Ellenor that her lab results are normal and sends her home to rest. But in her apartment, she collapses.
