WOLFGANG Petersen made his Hollywood directing debut with Shattered (Pearl 9.30pm, Original Running Time 98 mins), a wonderfully mysterious, and funny, thriller straight out of the Hitchcock mould.

Tom Berenger (Shoot to Kill ) plays a man who comes round after a near fatal car crash to find he's lost not only his face but his memory too. It's not all bad though, he also finds out he's married to beautiful Greta Scacchi (The Player ) who nurses him lovingly.

Well, perhaps not that lovingly, Berenger gradually discovers their marriage was no bed of roses, and that he'd been having an affair with Joanne Whalley-Kilmer (Scandal ). Enter private dick Bob Hoskins (Super Mario Brothers ) to unravel the labyrinthine mystery.

Admittedly, the implausibility factor hits the red zone on several occasions, but electrifying performances from the whole cast and more twists than a Chubby Checker song, make the film riveting to the end.

PRIME Sports' coverage of the three Sri Lanka/India cricket Test matches comprises delayed airing of the last two hours of each day's play (2am).

The presenters for the three-test series will be headed by Sunil Gavaskar - now the second-highest run scorer in Test cricket since Australia's Allan Border beat his record in New Zealand recently - cricket commentator Harsha Bogle and Ranjit Fernando.

WRITER/star/producer Paul Hogan had the good sense to retain the best bits from the original hit film for his sequel Crocodile Dundee II (World 9.30pm, ORT 112 mins) what he couldn't recapture was the freshness.
