JP Morgan has head-hunted leading regional technology analyst Bhavin Shah from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). The former chip designer, who was named top regional technology analyst in last year's Asiamoney polls, will become JP Morgan's head of technology research in Asia. Mr Shah joined CSFB in 1996 after working for Digital Equipment where he jointly designed the world's fastest alpha microprocessor, JP Morgan said. JP Morgan has also hired leading Japanese media analyst Kota Nakako from UBS Warburg. Mr Nakako will head its media and telecommunications research in Japan. JP Morgan also said it was looking for a new regional strategist after Dan Fineman left 'to pursue opportunities outside the firm'. Last month, Mr Fineman advised his clients to go overweight on stocks rather than bonds and admitted his downbeat outlook for Asian stocks this year had been overtaken by a liquidity-driven rally.
