SITTING on the verandah of Charles and Caroline Muir's office in the idyllic ocean-front setting of an Hawaiian island, the topic of conversation was simple - making the most out of making love.

As the waves lapped against the shore and the palm trees swayed in the afternoon breeze, we talked about how to free the female orgasm and then let it reverberate for anything up to half-an-hour.

Forget about Life Dynamics. Charles Muir is a guru of something called Tantra sex, a man who has studied with yogi and swamis. His disciplines journey from around the globe to learn techniques that are all about making love last longer.

Hongkong couples are already paying about $23,500 to attend the week-long course. Four couples left the territory for the Hawaiian island of Maui last week to join a seminar starting today.

They will be joined by about 20 other participants from around the world who are descending on the Mana Kai resort hotel to, well, couple.

People attending the seminar range in age from about 30 to 70, and comprise honeymooners, therapists looking for a few tips for wealthy clients, doctors, lawyers, couples celebrating a wedding anniversary or ordinary married couples.

The course is run by a company called Hawaiian Goddess and participants study a form of Buddhist yoga known as Tantra, which involves the massaging of various pressure points, notably the nether regions.
