Extend MTR

The letter from Nick Pearson headlined 'Close racecourse', which appeared in the South China Morning Post, on March 6, was very shortsighted.

Racing at Happy Valley is a world-renowned tourist attraction.

To suggest the racetrack be closed because it causes traffic diversions once a week is incredible.

If Mr Pearson wishes to direct his displeasure regarding traffic congestion in the area he should look to the Government and the MTR Corporation.

A Happy Valley link (maybe operating only on race nights) has long been required.

The MTRC could connect Wan Chai to Happy Valley with an extra stop at So Kon Po and back to Causeway Bay.
