Chief Secretary Donald Tsang Yam-kuen will lead a senior-level delegation next week to study infrastructure projects in major cities of the Pearl River Delta. From Sunday to Wednesday, the team will visit border control points at Huanggang and Lowu, the site for the Shenzhen Western Corridor, the Bai Yun International Airport and railway station in Guangzhou, the Nansha development zone, the port and airport in Zhuhai and container terminals in Shekou, Chiwan, Yantian and Huangpu. The visit follows an invitation from the vice-chairman of the State Development Planning Commission, Zhang Guobao. A spokesman for Mr Tsang said the visit was aimed at improving the understanding of the geographical distribution and development of the region's main infrastructure projects. 'It will provide useful information for planning work in Hong Kong,' the spokesman said. Financial Secretary Antony Leung Kam-chung will join part of the visit on Monday, when officials from Hong Kong and Guangdong will meet.
