SEVEN candidates are vying for the Regional Council seat in Sai Kung constituency left vacant by Gilbert Leung Kam-ho.
Independent candidate Wong Wah-keung, 41, a senior technical officer, was the last to sign up for the by-election to be held on August 8.
He will face competition from two independents and four aspirants backed by political parties.
The two independents are Wong Shui-sang, 46, a merchant and Chau Yin-ming, 32, a social service administrator.
The United Democrats of Hongkong are backing accounts officer Lam Wing-yin, 34; Meeting Point are supporting post-graduate student, Wai Hing-cheung, 34; and the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood are backing research director and economic adviser Law Cheung-kwok, 44.
The pro-China Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hongkong are supporting bank manager Cheung Hon-tin, 40.
