Stabbing murder at Chungking Mansions

A guesthouse employee was stabbed to death early yesterday in Chungking Mansions, Tsim Sha Tsui, in a suspected revenge attack.

Police identified the Pakistani victim, 38, only by the name Sida. They said his body was found in a corridor on the ground floor just after 8am. He had been stabbed three times in the neck.

He was certified dead at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. A post-mortem examination would be performed, police said.

The victim was ambushed by four people, including a woman, as he was on his way to work in Chungking Mansions. He reportedly was grabbed from behind before being stabbed.

Ng Ping-kuen, assistant commander of Yau Tsim Mong district, said police had descriptions of two of the men involved in the murder.

Mr Ng said the motive for the killing was not known, but an investigating officer said a revenge attack was suspected.
