Principal of Valtorta College John Tan urged his students to follow in the footsteps of two educators who had shown courage and vision in dealing with adversity.

Speaking at the college's silver jubilee celebrations, Dr Tan outlined the achievements of two key figures - Henry Valtorta, Bishop of Hong Kong from 1926-1951, and Father Santinon, the school's founder and first supervisor.

Both men were guided by their dreams and ideals while dealing with hardships during those early days.

Dr Tan encouraged Valtorta students to dream, pursue their ideals and to face challenges bravely.

More than 800 people attended the ceremony at the Catholic Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, which began with a special prayer led by Cardinal John Baptist Wu Cheng-chung.
