Do you find learning English a bore? It all depends on how you learn it.
Earlier this month STFA Tam Pak Yu College held a fun-filled English week organised by the school's English society.
All students were encouraged to speak and play interesting games in English. Five activities made the week more enjoyable: a book fair, a Scrabble marathon, an English speaking day, a song dedication and a games stall design competition.
In the design competition, each class had to set up its own games stall with a popular English or Chinese festival as the theme. Others were then invited to play games at the stalls in the school hall. Winners received small gifts.
Students had to speak English while they were designing and playing the games. This provided a good opportunity to hone their language skills.
Eager to test their ability, many students moved from one stall to the next. It was really exciting.
