Pop singer's father in court

The father of Canto-pop star Eason Chan Yick-shun appeared in court on 17 corruption charges involving $3.36 million. Chan Kau-tai, 57, a Housing Department chief building services engineer, was granted bail of $500,000 cash and $500,000 in his own recognisance by Magistrate Julia Livesey. No plea was entered and the case was adjourned until April 30.
