Nicholas Tse's dad stands by 'rebel' son
The father of pop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung yesterday described his son as 'rebellious' following his release by the ICAC over an allegation that he switched drivers after crashing his Ferrari.
Patrick Tse Yin said his son was 'fine' after being held for questioning by the Independent Commission Against Corruption for 36 hours before his release on Saturday.
The teen idol was arrested at the home of starlet Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi in Hong Lok Yuen, Tai Po, at 2am on Friday. Their relationship has been the subject of feverish press speculation.
The ICAC is investigating whether Tse, 21, had any role in an accident on March 23 when his $2 million Ferrari F360 Modena crashed in Cotton Tree Drive, Central. An alleged substitute driver and a police constable were also arrested and later released in connection with the case.
Patrick Tse, a movie idol in the 1960s, declined to comment on the case, but admitted he was worried. 'Of course, I do have some misgivings . . . but whatever happens, I will support him.'
Asked if he thought Tse was rebellious, his father said: 'Yes, I think so.'
