MY heart goes out to the lads of the Black Watch stationed in Hongkong who are bemoaning the poor quality of the Chinese food in the territory compared, they claim, with the delicious chop suey and fried noodles they can get back home in Scotland. I know exactly what they mean. The haggis and black pudding served up by Hongkong's tartan hotelier James Smith - general manager of the Hilton - at his frequent shindigs are inordinately superior to the tasteless versions I have had to endure during my forays to Edinburgh.
