Top seeds from the NBA's Eastern Conference, the New Jersey Nets, play their second game of a first-round, five-match play-off series against Indiana Pacers early tomorrow morning (Hong Kong time). In the Western Conference, San Antonio Spurs take on Seattle Supersonics in their second contest of the five-game series. Both contests opened with game one on Saturday. Earlier this morning (HK time) six teams, including reigning champions the Los Angeles Lakers, began play-off action. The Lakers met Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics clashed with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Dallas Mavericks played Minnesota Timberwolves. Last season, on their way to their second straight NBA championship, the Lakers swept Portland out in the first round. In 2000, the Blazers lost to the same team in a classic Western Conference final match-up. Now, if Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and Co want their third title in a row, they will have to overcome Portland once again.
