Court hears rent-fraud case

Senior Water Supplies Department engineer Chan Yun-choi, 48, appeared in Eastern Court accused of falsely claiming $1.3 million in rent allowances from March 1991 to January 1995 for a flat he owned in Taikoo Shing. He faces three counts of using false documents. No pleas were taken. The case was adjourned to May 10.
