As we all know Hong Kong's rate of unemployment is getting higher.

As one of the largest providers of business English programmes in Hong Kong work places, we have noticed that the busy are getting busier and are constantly pushed for time to attend the subsidised language training through the Workplace English Campaign Scheme.

However, there are also many professionals who have lost their jobs and reluctantly have time on their hands. This group unfortunately are not subsidised by WEC to attend language training programmes.

From our knowledge of this group, they do not want special programmes for the unemployed. They want our range of courses that improve their proficiency levels in business-related English for when they are successful in securing their next jobs.

Is the Government aware that this group of unemployed professionals, eager to upgrade their English, and with time on their hands, have fallen down the subsidy crack?
