A not-to-be-missed episode in which tragedy strikes the mobsters of New Jersey, causing them all to look at their lives and their children in a different light. Meanwhile, Anthony Jnr (Robert Iler, above left) gets expelled from school after being caught cheating in a geometry exam. After determining AJ's problem is a lack of discipline, Tony (James Gandolfini, above centre) makes plans to send him to a military institute, against the wishes of Carmela (Edie Falco). AJ should win an Emmy for the hilariously vacant facial expression he sports most of the time.

Elsewhere, Paulie (Tony Sirico) is increasingly at odds with Ralph (Joe Pantoliano), most recently over the proceeds from a heist. Having provided the alarm codes, Paulie insists half of the stash should be his and badgers Tony for a sit-down meeting with him and Ralph.

Back at FBI headquarters, agent Deborah Ciccerone (Fairuza Balk) is given an undercover assignment; to get close to the Sopranos by befriending Adriana (Drea de Matteo). Apparently the only qualification needed for the job is how big she can make her hair.
