Special ceremony was dignified and moving

I, too, am one of many who prefer an Anzac dawn ceremony.

Apart from the historical significance of the dawn service, it also requires an added effort and commitment to rise at an early hour when we would all much rather be warm and comfortable in our beds.

However, having attended more than 40 Anzac services over the years, in various countries, never have I attended a more dignified and moving celebration of the Anzac spirit than at the Australian International School on Thursday evening. There could be few places in Hong Kong that could have reminded us 'lest we forget' so keenly than in this beautiful, predominantly-green setting, and the green and gold so vividly represented.

Thank you to the school, the Australian and New Zealand communities, the moving speakers and that wonderful choir for making Anzac Day so meaningful to so many here in Hong Kong.
