Bungling robber jailed

Debt-ridden Tam Sun-kwong, 42, who falsely claimed to have a bomb during a bungled attempt to rob a bank, was caught later the same day after writing his demand on his passbook then leaving it behind, the Court of First Instance heard. Tam was jailed for six years and eight months after admitting trying to rob a Bank of China branch in Tai Kok Tsui, Mongkok, last November 5.
