Computer game players who always wanted to be hotel moguls or restaurant tycoons will soon have their chance when Hong Kong-based Enlight releases its next two strategy titles.
As is common in the gaming industry, the games will be released in partnership with large overseas distributors.
Hotel Giant will be published by JoWood Productions in Europe later this month, while the provisionally titled Restaurant Tycoon will be published by Phantagram Interactive next year.
Enlight has enjoyed success in the past with strategy titles Capitalism, which allows players to manufacture and sell goods, and Virtual U, which simulates the administration of a university. Both games are even taught in some university courses that focus on business administration and higher education administration.
Company founder Trevor Chan Ming-yuk said with these latest games and other ideas under development, the hope was to appeal to the mass market.
It is the restaurant game that has been generating the most buzz on Internet sites that focus on computer games. The object is to rise from the rank of chef to owner of the world's largest restaurant chain by going to cooking school, entering contests and managing other chefs.
