A fetishist with a fascination for policewomen's underwear was wished a 'happy stay' in prison by a judge who jailed him yesterday for 20 months.

Kung Man-wah, 38, had been out of prison for only two days on January 24 when he broke into the female sergeants' changing room at Lei Muk Shue police station. He fled empty-handed after a constable heard him tampering with the lockers, prosecutor Dee Crebbin said.

Kung confessed when stopped on January 26 by patrolling officers in On Yam Estate, where he lived with his mother in Lei Muk Shue, Tsuen Wan.

He asked to be remanded in Stanley Prison because he wanted to meet his friends in jail over Lunar New Year, Ms Crebbin said.

On July 14, 1997, Kung was jailed for 2.5 years for sneaking into Kwai Chung police station three times to steal bras in February that year. Kung was last jailed for two months in December for a shop theft, details of which were not given in court.

'This [the police station break-in] happened two days after he was released. I think he wants to go back,' District Court Judge Chua Fi-lan said, asking defence solicitor Samson Wong King-fai to clarify this with Kung. Kung neither confirmed nor denied Judge Chua's suspicion.
