English Day turned into a circus at Pooi To Middle School recently when Nilly Chaudhuri from KELY Support Group came to visit.
Ms Chaudhuri created a lot of excitement among students by teaching them an array of circus tricks.
'KELY' stands for 'Kinds Everywhere Like You'. Ms Chaudhuri said it also meant 'Kids Everywhere Like You'.
'Kids everywhere like you are the reason for the KELY Circus School,' she said.
'Kids everywhere have the same fears and problems. By teaching them simple tricks and games, we hope that we can boost their self-esteem and help them to have a little fun.'
During the day she taught students to make funny balloons, spin plates on sticks and juggle spinning tops. Many students quickly got the hang of the tricks and, amid the sounds of bursting balloons and falling plates, the school was filled with the happy voices of the hundreds of students chatting away in English.
