Even the cups touched by presidential lips are being used to promote Jiangxi province.

While it has been almost a year since President Jiang Zemin visited Jiangxi, his legacy lingers on as his inscriptions, and even the cups from which he sipped tea, have become important assets for local officials and businessmen.

Mr Jiang visited Jiangxi for four days from May 30 last year - accompanied by a large entourage of officials, including his right-hand man and head of the Party Organisation Department, Zeng Qinghong, also a Jiangxi native.

His inscriptions can now be found in many places he visited, including the August 1 Uprising Museum in Nanchang, schools, a ceramic factory in Jingdezhen, and even local companies.

In Wuyuan county, where Mr Jiang's ancestors lived before moving to Jiangsu province, photographs taken during Mr Jiang's visit have been enlarged and displayed at a tea farm.

Even the seats and tea set used by Mr Jiang have been kept and are displayed to tourists with labels showing where Mr Jiang, Mr Zeng, and Jiangxi party boss Meng Jianzhu sat.
