Attention all young astronauts. The MassMutual Jr Space Camp - an extraordinary, cost-free opportunity for students aged between seven and 11 - is open for applications.
Six lucky children, each accompanied by a parent, will travel to the United States for a four-day space discovery camp nearby the Kennedy Space Centre. All expenses, including flights, accommodation, meals and programme fees, will be covered by MassMutual Asia. If you are chosen, you will take part in an amazing array of activities including a virtual moon walk in a gravity-adapted simulator and feel what astronauts feel as the space shuttle takes off and manoeuvres through space.
The simulators at the camp are modelled on the same equipment that astronauts use at Nasa.
Marketing support manager of MassMutual Asia Sindy Yung Kit-yee said that last year's junior astronauts had the luxury of watching a space shuttle blast off from Kennedy Space Centre.
Space Camp aims to stimulate children's interest in space and science and enhance personal growth.
