Regina Ip backs call on ICAC arrest policy

Secretary for Security Regina Ip Lau Suk-yee yesterday backed a suggestion by the police force that guidelines be worked out for all disciplinary forces on releasing press information about criminal suspects. Her comments came in the wake of a dispute between police and the Independent Commission Against Corruption on information released on the arrest of a senior police officer for allegedly accepting sex from prostitutes in exchange for tip-offs about vice raids.
