Design software developer Autodesk is targeting local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) after experiencing declining sales in the region.
A total of 1,000 licences for the Autodesk Investor Series (AIS) collaboration package will be offered at special prices in the next three months to members of several business associations in Hong Kong.
They include the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Hong Kong Diecasting Association, Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association, the Chiu Chau Plastics Manufacturers Association and the Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries.
Kan Chun-kit, Autodesk's regional manufacturing business manager for Greater China, said: 'In Hong Kong, more than 95 per cent of companies are SMEs. When we said we are targeting the SMEs, [we are] targeting the entire Hong Kong market.'
The package includes: Inventor 5.3 with Mechanical Desktop - an application for two-dimensional users moving to three-dimensional designs; one-year's access to Streamline Collaboration, a Web-based design project management application; and free training on how to use the software.
Mr Kan said the full package would cost about HK$12,000, a 75 per cent discount from the original price of HK$46,000.
He said Autodesk was finalising agreements with a number of local academic institutions to jointly offer the training.
