Little Cheung is a nine-year-old boy confronting the complexities of the adult world with all of its comic and tragic consequences. When Little Cheung (played by Yiu Yuet-ming) is not in school, he helps out at his father's restaurant by working in the kitchen or delivering orders. Everybody in the neighbourhood knows and likes him and he receives good tips for deliveries.

One day Little Cheung befriends a girl his age, Fan (Mak Wai-fan, above left with Yiu, centre). The pair become close despite Fan and her family being illegal immigrants from the mainland who could be deported any minute. A touching, realistic portrayal of Hong Kong people. (1999)
