SOME PEOPLE MAY have heard voices or had visions after a night on the town and several pints of amber nectar. But not Julia Vazey. She claims to see and hear things that aren't exactly of this world - without even a snifter of alcohol - and has done since she was about three years old.

The New Zealander, who is in Hong Kong until Thursday giving workshops and consultations, describes herself as a holistic motivator, and she does this by teaching people how to communicate with angels.

'I have been aware of angels since an early age but I'm not unique,' she says. 'Everyone has a personal team of angels and angelic experiences, but are simply not aware of them or in tune with them. My aim is to connect people with their angels because their purpose is to help us to be the best version of ourselves. The problem is that people have too small a picture. We all have vast potential but only the individual and the angels hold the key.'

Angels, who are also known as spirit guides, messengers of God, masters, great ancestors and great forefathers, aren't solely concerned with helping us to achieve a higher spiritual plane but also with such earthly pastimes as finding a job, buying real estate, choosing a partner and dealing with stress - literally anything, says Vazey.

The number of angels beavering away on each individual's behalf varies from person to person, she says. Someone who works with objects might need only one to three angels to offer initial ideas; if you're interacting with people - directly through teaching and healing, or more indirectly through writing, for example - about three to five guides will be needed to help to cross cultural, economic and language barriers and reach all walks of life.

According to Vazey, angels are beings who have fulfilled their allotted tasks on Earth through various reincarnations and have reached a desired higher state. The good news is we're all going to end up as angels one day, if Vazey is to be believed.
