The chef's got an alibi
Gender boundaries have been blurring again at Alibi, Hong Kong's intimate lair for It Girls, sport boys and groovy globetrotters.
The Wyndham Street bar has been delighting all sections of its well-heeled clientele with a mix of macho World Cup nights and girlie manicure get-togethers. These sessions, generally soaked in cocktails and augmented by an awesome buffet, have been such a success that owners Nichole Garnaut and Jeanette Skelton have decided to keep the bar's huge plasma televisions after the finals for the Wimbledon tennis championships fortnight.
Next up, the bar/lounge says 'goodbye' and 'mwah mwah' to chef extraordinaire Axl Grosset who departs for Myanmar's Strand Hotel and 'g'day mate' to Australian David McLean, ex-sidekick to London's bad boy superstar Marco Pierre White of Mirabelle.
