Best supporting actress

Actress Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng received the Arts Patronage Award from French stationers Montblanc, long-time supporters of the arts. This was in recognition of her dedication to potential film-makers via her Mythical Films Creative Development Fund. This was Yeoh's first year of organising a competition for original scripts and screenplays, to encourage film-makers in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Professor Lo King-man, director of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and adviser for the awards since 1992, was among the judges who selected Yeoh for the award.
