Arthur Andersen - the disgraced accounting giant - closed its Hong Kong account at the weekend with a cash injection.

A sponsor of the Hong Kong Management Association's annual Management Game, Andersen splashed out HK$35,000 in cash prizes to the winning teams - all from CLP Holdings.

Handing out the prizes at Saturday's award ceremony was Patrick Fitzgerald, Andersen's managing partner of audit and business advisory services.

However, despite the fact that Andersen would not officially merge with former rival PricewaterhouseCoopers until Monday, Mr Fitzgerald had already changed into his new company hat.

Sources told Lai See that Mr Fitzgerald may still have been sitting in his old chair in his old office but he was brandishing his new business cards faster than an Egyptian referee at a Germany versus Cameroon match.

The bean-counter was introducing himself as head of PwC's Global Risk Management solutions.
