Brace yourself for incoming optimism. First came RTHK's surreal and uplifting Band Aid-style re-recording of Hong Kong Is My Home, for which members of Tung Chee-hwa's new team donned T-shirts to sing up the stock exchange with verses like this:

'Hong Kong is my home.

Let's ride out the storm together.

Seize the opportunity.

Now, the radio station has announced a series of 'good news flashes'. Minute-long programmes that 'emphasise the strengths of Hong Kong' will be sprinkled between shows on RTHK's four Chinese channels over the coming months, said RTHK spokeswoman Belinda Winterbourne.
