An Argentine visitor was robbed of a knapsack containing 105,000 euros (HK$797,685) when he was attacked in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday.
The 36-year-old victim was set upon by five men armed with metal bars outside Chungking Mansions in Nathan Road at about 11.30am. The gang snatched his knapsack and stole the money before fleeing on foot. The empty knapsack and two metal bars were found at the scene when police arrived. Officers mounted a search but found no trace of the suspects. The victim was treated at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
