Canto-pop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung has denied assaulting a photographer in Taipei in the latest incident to put the singer in the headlines.

Ng Sung-kei, 33, a photographer for Hong Kong magazine Sudden Weekly, claimed Tse put him in a headlock and pushed him to the ground after he tried to take a picture when the singer accidentally fell over.

The alleged assault was said to have happened late on Saturday night outside a restaurant in Hsinyi Road, where Tse and companions were about to eat.

Ng, who claims he suffered bruises to his nose and elbow, has filed an assault complaint against the 22-year-old.

In a press conference yesterday, Tse, who gave a concert in Taiwan on Saturday, said the photographer's claims were untrue. Tse claimed he simply tapped the photographer on the shoulder, and that the man later fell to the ground by accident.
