HKR International has secured building approval for its residential project Siena phase three in Discovery Bay involving a gross floor area of 565,700 square feet. A spokeswoman for the group said the development could provide more than 500 units, similar to phase two of the project. Siena phase two could be released for sale this month or next month, pending the granting of pre-sale consent, she said. The project, with an area of 650,000 sq ft, will comprise 757 units measuring about 500 sq ft to 2,400 sq ft. The project includes high-rise and low-rise apartments, duplexes and houses. She said Siena phase two was due to be completed within this year while detailed design and development schedules for phase three had not been decided. The Buildings Department had given HKR approval to build five towers for phase three, ranging from 16 to 24 storeys. Meanwhile, Nan Fung Development has been allowed to develop a 45-storey serviced apartment building with commercial and recreational facilities on Yeung Uk Road, Tsuen Wan. Sun Hung Kai Properties has revised its design for a serviced apartment project nearby, providing a floor area of 1.06 million sq ft. The newly approved building plan consists of one 48-storey and two 56-storey serviced apartment blocks with a clubhouse over five podium levels. The group also received permission to build a five-storey commercial project over one basement at Kowloon Station with 889,900 sq ft. Shaw Brothers (Hong Kong) has received approval to develop 689,900 sq ft of commercial space for Hong Kong Movie City in Tseung Kwan O.
