It's a concert cliche - drumsticks tossed merrily into the crowd as souvenir of a great gig - but it went horribly wrong at last Friday's International Rock concert, when a female member of the audience was struck down by a drumstick thrown by INXS drummer Jon Farriss.

With a deep gash to her forehead and blood gushing, the 20-something was quickly surrounded by a team of security guards and sent to hospital.
It was the first rock concert to be staged by the Government. A spokeswoman from the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said the incident was under investigation and she could not comment further on the case.
