The Examinations Authority is to start selling past exam papers on the Internet to bring in more money.

An authority spokeswoman said more than 1,000 titles of its publications, including past papers, examiners' reports and sampler CD-Roms would be available for online sale from July 29.

The material is now sold only in bookshops.

Candidates and the public can visit http://www.hkea.edu.hk and http://bookstore.esdlife.com to buy publications related to the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), A-level exams, Putonghua proficiency tests and overseas and other professional exams.

The authority spokeswoman said the online sales would hopefully 'generate extra income for the Examinations Authority, which has been under tight budgetary constraints'.

The authority earned $13.9 million from sales of publications in 2000/2001, compared with $14.6 million in 1999/2000.
