If the Town Planning Board allows the appeal being made by Hong Kong Resorts to build a second golf course in Discovery Bay, a verdant hillside with a clear stream and rocky pools will be ruined.
Golf courses are unnatural environments where large quantities of synthetic fertilisers and chemical pesticides are used. These pollutants end up in the water table and are taken by streams down to the sea and beach.
Instead of more unnecessary development, let's plant more trees and other perennials in Discovery Bay.
