In your July 13 edition there was a letter entitled 'Creativity takes a back seat' bemoaning the lack of priority accorded in Hong Kong to such qualities. However, on another page there was an item headed 'Cash lure for 'soft skill' training' under the Continuing Education Fund (CEF). This aims to help people develop skills like creativity through experiential learning, and has been introduced as response to feedback from employers about the value they set on such skills.

The Outward Bound School already provides reimbursable courses and other training providers have been invited to apply. More information on this sector and on the CEF is available at www.info.gov.hk/sfaa/cef
