Global business information-provider Factiva, a Dow Jones and Reuters company, has updated its Asian-language interface for software tools that help put its content products on to the online networks of Chinese companies.

The new Chinese-language interface for Factiva's search module and track module programs enable the company's global content to be seamlessly integrated into intranets and portals that support Chinese-speaking users.

Factiva president and chief executive Clare Hart said this release marked the company's efforts to speed up and widen the delivery of global information available in the local context.

The move is also expected to further extend the reach of Factiva's Alerts instant-messaging and Web-based e-learning programs to both large companies as well as small and medium-sized enterprises in Greater China.

Ms Hart said: 'Over the past year we have enhanced our Asian offerings with key local content and through new product development. The new interface enables more companies in Greater China to organise and fully leverage valuable multilingual business information across their enterprises.'

The two updated software modules are part of Factiva's Integration suite, a set of tools designed for companies to integrate Factiva's collection of global news and business information into intranets, portals and mobile communications devices.

The search module allows users to go through Factiva's archive and retrieve information on any business topic.
